The Santa Cruz Waldorf is deeply appreciative of the support we receive from families, friends, alumni, and local and national businesses. Each contribution represents a commitment to the quality education our school provides our children – the future of our local and global communities.
The Santa Cruz Waldorf School has three major fundraising efforts. Each of these efforts are sustained through the generosity of families at our school, as well as extended families, friends, alumni, and local and national supporters of our specific school and Waldorf education. All donations in any amount are deeply appreciated.
Annual Giving Campaign
Financial support received through this annual campaign sustains the school’s general fund which is used to support the unique educational curriculum our children participate in, including visual and language arts, gardening, music, and sports. Funds also go towards the maintenance of our beautiful campus and for general school administration. Annual Giving Page
SCWS Annual Dinner and Dance
Each year the Santa Cruz Waldorf School hosts its Annual Dinner and Dance which features local organic foods, live music, wine raffle, and both live & silent auctions. The event will be held Saturday October 6th from 5:00pm – 10:00pm at the 'Top of the Ritt' in downtown Santa Cruz. For more information, or to become an event sponsor or donor, please contact Bryce Eberhart at email@example.com.
We are very fortunate to have a thriving scrip program. This program provides the school with thousands of dollars of funding each year through donations made by local and national merchants. We are grateful to our family and friends who support both SCWS and these businesses through participating in our scrip program.
For more information about how you can join this program please contact our scrip coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Giving Back to Our Santa Cruz & International Communities
The Human Race
Each year the school participates in The Human Race, sponsored by The Volunteers Center of Santa Cruz County. For the past two years we have donated the results of our Human Race fundraising to The Life Lab, and Food What at UCSC. .
We are blessed to be part of a well-established and well-nurtured school in Santa Cruz and feel happy to pass on our blessings to an association of fledgling Waldorf preschools in the rural shanty towns of Cape Town , South Africa. Our Sister Schools are named Isiseko Sobuntu which means Foundation of Humanity in their Xkosa language.
Each year raise money at various events such as the Winter and May Fairs. We also have an annual Strawberry Shortcake sale at the end-of-the year Picnic. If you would like to learn more about these learning communities and their work, visit www.cfce.org.za/solidarity/isIntro_sol.html and join the Sister School Committee.
